The story was about a woman in the 40s who wanted to vote but couldn't. She wasn't able to vote because she was back. Finally they let her vote. She was happy about it but she thought that it was very unfair that she wasn't allowed to at first when white people always could.
The best part about it I thought was at the end when she voted. But it was sad to think that people would be so awful to not let people vote because of their race of their gender. 1.) People think that I'm a lesbian. A lot of people have asked me if I am then they usually seem surprised when I tell them that I don't really know.
2.) I don't care, I just think that it's annoying when people assume things about you. 3.) I hang out with guys mostly. 4.) I think it's very important for people not to just assume a single story. PC: Kenna 1.) Why did Gardner wanted to photograph the war? What was he trying to say about it?
2.) You will be altering photos in your current assignment, in what ways did Gardner alter photographs? Why?
3.) Think about how and where you see photographic images? How is the distribution of photographic images different NOW vs THEN? Based on your own experience and the information from the article, what factors have contributed to these differences?
4.) In your opinion, how do you think artists and activists in the present are trying to speak-out on issues they care about?
